Detroit - Chicago WS

(2002)

In 1995 these two teams established the combined mark for most longballs in a game. They repeated the feat in 2002, this time in the other team's ballpark.

12 home runs were launched in the game in 2002 and contributed to the record for most longballs in one day, when the total of 62 was reached in the games played that day in both Leagues (AL 30 and NL 32).

3 players with multiple home runs on that day in 2002 helped establish the mark of 9 different hitters who did it on one day in MLB.

2 batters participated in both occasions (CHI WS: Ray Durham and Frank Thomas, hit home runs in the game in 1995).
